"Sue is absolutely wonderful. Because of her, the school is a laid back and nurturing environment where children can learn to work, play and respect each other. My three children attended Redeemer Nursery School and I am still impressed by how much they learned and how well they were prepared for Kindergarten."

"My son Mick and daughter Tess are having an amazing time at the Church of the Redeemer Nursery School.  I tell everyone I know about it because I believe this school has mastered the perfect formula for a positive preschool experience.  They balance the right mix of structured time with free play / outdoor time.   Each morning begins with an art / baking project as the kids arrive and then they hold a morning meeting with one child taking on the "Leader" responsibility which includes telling the rest of the class the weather, the day of the week, etc.  My kids enjoy the meeting and being the "Leader".  The other structured sessions are Spanish and Music class each week and I am thrilled with how much they are learning.  The free time is spent in creative play or walking to the park – my son loves animals and enjoys the outdoor adventures to the park and all he sees along the way.   The teachers are all very experienced and appreciate the uniqueness of every child – they truly enjoy what they do and it shows in their work.  Both my children are learning a lot but more importantly, they are so happy and can't wait to go to school.  I can't recommend the school enough".

"The Church of the Redeemer Nursery School is a real gem.  The school and it's wonderful teachers maintain the perfect balance between nurture, creativity and academic structure.  The teachers treat children as competent interesting people and, accordingly, the students develop fantastic communication skills and deductive reasoning ability.  My children came away from their preschool years at Redeemer with a true love of learning and social confidence".

"The Church of the Redeemer Pre-school is a special place and has been a great pre-school for my son for the past three years.   Sue and Jude have taught together for over 30 years and really understand what motivates young children.  They each take the time to find out how to bring out the best in each child, and inspire the children to learn new things, gain a great respect for self and others and simply have a lot of fun".

"As I enter the classrooms, I am thrilled with the nostalgic memories of my own pre-school years: the old Fisher-Price games and toys; the dress-up closet filled with real clothes (not costumes); and the hand made artwork all over the walls.   I think what impresses me the most about the school is how confident and independent the children become, and how excited they are to explore new things, share the ideas and songs they learn from school, and how much they adore and love being at school everyday".

"If only all of the children of the world could experience the beauty of this little pre-school. This gem is steeped in tradition and innovation, in safety and growth, in freedom and boundaries – it is a unique and wonderful school. Sue Chrystal has directed the preschool for 28 years. Under her direction, children are encouraged to explore both their physical and intellectual natures. Sue and her staff treat the children with the utmost respect and expect the same in return. The real trick is that these kids are also allowed to be kids".

"There is always a thread of learning tucked into everything that happens in the classroom. That coupled with an emphasis on being a good community member and working in cooperative teams makes Church of the Redeemer a fabulous place. Although both of my children went through the school and LOVED IT, it is I who wishes I had been able to attend. We would all be better for it. Hooray for the Church of the Redeemer Nursery School and Sue Chrystal".

"We LOVE the Church of the Redeemer Preschool!  Our daughter tends to be rather shy, hangs back at first, and takes time making friends.  The teachers, Sue and Jude, were so warm and loving that Isabel felt safe and accepted from the first day.  Redeemer is the perfect combination of order (small class size and structure to the day) and free play. The younger kids, the Bumblebees, learn a different color or shape each week (so they make brownies on brown week or valentines on heart week). The older kids, the Explorers, learn a different letter of the alphabet every week and do art and cooking projects based around it. (The class made biscuits on "B" week).  In both classes, they take turns being the leader and take great pride in their roles".

"In addition to weekly Spanish and music classes (the teacher is wonderful), they cook and go on nature walks.  They also go on great field trips to museums, puppet shows and plays, and have guest speakers from doctors to animal experts.  Isabel takes great pride in all her craft projects, from lanterns to drums to ornaments, and loves telling me what she's learned, about the Pilgrims or some new Spanish word".

"What is most amazing about this school is how loving and accepting the culture is. There are families from many different countries -- Japan, Korea, Argentina, Chile, Germany, India, and some of the international children don't speak any English when they arrive. One of Isabel's great accomplishments last year was helping her Indian friend learn English.  She was so proud when he could finally say her name!  I would say our feeling about this amazing school can be summed up by Isabel, who said early on in her first year, 'Mommy, I love school so much, I want to live there!'

"If you are looking for a preschool experience for your child to feel safe and happy and nurtured, you owe it to yourself to check out 'The Redeemer'.  Very small class sizes equals individual attention during activities and playtime. The carefree low anxiety climate is perfect for children to learn the basics about who they are in the world.  The teachers are the reason for the success of the school.  Simply put - go and see for yourself!"
